This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use ChangeCheck. ChangeCheck is operated by a private individual based in Sweden. Our core principle is simple: we do not collect or store your files or their contents.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Uploaded files or file contents
• Personal data inside uploaded files
• Any persistent user content

All file processing happens entirely in your browser. Files are never uploaded to our servers.

3. Data We Collect

We collect minimal technical data solely required to operate and secure the service:

• License key identifiers (hashed)
• Credit balance and usage
• Basic analytics (page views, errors)

If you purchase credits, your license key is linked to your payment information stored by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your name, email, or payment details directly.

We store only what is needed to enforce licensing and prevent abuse. The legal basis for processing this data is legitimate interest, solely to operate, secure, and prevent abuse of the service.

4. Cookies

We use cookies for:

• Session management
• Credit tracking
• Preventing abuse

These cookies are strictly necessary for the service to function. No consent banner is required because these cookies are essential for operation.

5. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers:

• Lemon Squeezy – payment processing and license management
• Upstash – stores hashed license key identifiers and credit balances
• OpenAI – optional AI analysis of non-file metadata only. File contents, diffs, or user data are never transmitted.
• Google – optional Google Drive import/export (requires your authorization)
• Vercel – hosting

File contents are never shared with any third-party service. Payment information is handled exclusively by Lemon Squeezy.

Some third-party providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. In such cases, appropriate safeguards are used in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

6. Google Sheets Add-on

The ChangeCheck Google Sheets Add-on runs entirely within Google Workspace. It requests a single OAuth scope: spreadsheets.currentonly, which limits access to the spreadsheet you have open at the time of use.

• All comparison processing runs within Google Workspace — no data is sent to external servers
• The add-on makes no outbound network calls
• The add-on is read-only — it never modifies your spreadsheet
• No spreadsheet data is collected, stored, or transmitted to ChangeCheck or any third party

7. Data Retention

• No files are stored
• No content history is retained
• Transaction records are handled by Lemon Squeezy according to their policies

8. Your Rights

We do not store your files or personal data related to file contents. If you have purchased credits and wish to delete your hashed license identifier and credit record, contact us at support@changecheck.app. For payment-related data, contact Lemon Squeezy directly.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
